The National Monuments Service's description
Located towards the top of the S-facing slope of a drumlin in the Bonet river valley. This is a subcircular area (dims 31.2m E-W; 28m N-S) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 2m; int. H 0.2m; ext. H 0.5m) S-NW which is reduced to a scarp (H 0.4m) elsewhere, with slight traces of a fosse (Wth at base 2m; max. D 0.3m) E-S. There is an entrance (Wth 3m) at ESE. The monument is bisected by a NNW-SSE field bank and drain, which only survive within it, and the interior is overgrown W of this feature but is reclaimed pasture to the E.
The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Leitrim' compiled by Michael J. Moore (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2003). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
