The National Monuments Service's description
Located towards the bottom of a W-facing slope with an E-W stream curving around it on the N side in a coniferous forest. It is depicted as a circular embanked enclosure (diam. c. 25-30m) on the 1835 edition of the OS 6-inch map where it is described as a 'fort' and as a circular hachured feature (diam. c. 25m) 1907 edition. The location was not planted but it is now completely overgrown. No feature is visible at ground level but it was probably a ringfort.
The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Leitrim' compiled by Michael J. Moore (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2003). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
