The National Monuments Service's description
Located towards the top of a N-facing slope. It is depicted as a circular embanked enclosure (ext. diam. c. 25m) described as a 'fort' on the 1835 ed. of the OS 6-inch map. This is a scrub-covered triangular area with the apex at SW (dims 17m N-S; 22m E-W) defined by a scarp (max. H 0.9m) at NE and by field banks at S and NW. It may be a fragment of a rath and it remains unplanted in a coniferous forest. The rath (LE015-029----) is c. 120m to the E.
The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Leitrim' compiled by Michael J. Moore (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2003). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
