The National Monuments Service's description

Situated on the floor of the Glenfarne valley, with a meandering S-N section of the Cornavannoge River c. 100m to the W at a point where it turns SSW. It was identified in archaeological testing (11E0417) for a re-alignment of the N16 Manorhamilton to Enniskillen road when it became visible as an expanse of burnt and broken stones in a clay matrix (dims 5.5m E-W; 4.8m N-S; T 0.25m) beneath 1.2m of peat. No trough was evident and it is preserved in situ. (MacLeod 2011, 4)
