The National Monuments Service's description

Three human bones were discovered in a cave on Sramore Mountain in 1995. The discovery was described as follows: 'bones were on the floor of a tunnel and squeeze we were attempting in a cave some 15-20 meters in [from the entrance] … The bones were in a small hollow which was too small to enter without digging' (unpublished records, NMI). The remains represent one adult aged over 20 years and possibly male. One bone returned a Late Mesolithic date of 5202± 39BP (UB-6407): it has not proved possible to identify the exact location of this particular cave (pers. comm. Marion Dowd, 2014). (Moore 2003, no. 1495)
