The National Monuments Service's description

Situated at the top of a S-facing cliff (H c. 20m) overlooking the Glencar valley to the S and W and a smaller W-E fold to the N. This is a circular area (int. diam. 18.5m NW-SE; 17m NE-SW) defined by a grass-covered stone spread (Wth 1-1.5m; H 0.2m) W-N-SE and the cliff-face elsewhere. This wall is separated by a berm (Wth 9m) from the remnants of an outer wall visible as a grass-covered stone spread (Wth 1m) NW-E, which backs on to the cliff at NW but has been removed E-SE where the enclosure (LE007-025004-) is built over it. The original entrance is not identified. The cashel (LE007-025002-) was later built on the monument, its inner wall being located between the walls of this site, and its outer wall is outside the original outer wall.
