The National Monuments Service's description
Situated at the crest of a S-facing slope overlooking the floor of the NW-SE Glenade valley. This is a grass-covered circular area (diam. 24m E-W; 23.5m N-S) defined by a round-topped earthen bank (Wth 2m; int. H c. 0.2m; ext. H 0.9m) E-W-N which is reduced to a scarp (H 0.5-0.7m) elsewhere. The outer fosse (Wth of base 1.5m; D 0.3m) is visible SW-NW and is suggested elsewhere by a band of lush vegetation. The entrance (Wth 4m) is at E and a depression (L 9.5m; Wth 1-1.8m; max. D 0.4m) running from the centre to the periphery at S may be a collapsed souterrain.
The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Leitrim' compiled by Michael J. Moore (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2003). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
