The National Monuments Service's description
Depicted as a small circular feature and described as a ‘Fort’ on the 1835 ed. of the OS 6-inch map. It is situated in a low-lying position in Glenade valley with a small SW-NE stream just to the E. Overgrown D-shaped area (dims 6-10m N-S; 15-20m E-W) defined by straight field banks (Wth 1.2m; H 0.6m) and an outer ditch (Wth 2.5m; D 0.2m) at N, S and W, with a curved scarp (H 0.7m) and stream (Wth 3m) at E. An original entrance is not identified.
The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Leitrim' compiled by Michael J. Moore (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2003). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
