The National Monuments Service's description
In an undulating landscape of mixed woodland which slopes down generally to the S. A mass-rock is known locally, and is described as a few stones gathered together in a hollow surrounded by holly trees (Gallogly 1993-4, 439: 1999, 400). A wood of about c. 9 acres (c. 3.5 ha.) now occupies this general area but the monument was not precisely located.
The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Leitrim' compiled by Michael J. Moore (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2003). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
