The National Monuments Service's description

Unlocated well within townland described by Carrigan as 'There is another well, south of the churchyard (LA034-019005-), near the Gowl bridge, known as "Inch well", the bell of the Priory chapel (LA034-019004-) is believed to have been secreted here, at the time of the Reformation, and to have never been brought to the surface since' (Carrigan 1905, vol. 2, 239-40).
