The National Monuments Service's description
Unlocated named bush within townland that is described in The History of Queens County as 'An aged whitethorn, called by some 'the Monument' by others 'the Priests Bush' marks the spot empurpled by the martyred soggarth's blood. The date of this murder lies somewhere between 1660 and 1700' (O'Hanlon and O'Leary 1907, vol. 2, 573).
