The National Monuments Service's description

Marked on the 1838 edition of the OS 6-inch map as a small circular enclosure (max. diam. c. 15m); possibly a mound. Situated in a low lying area with excellent view of Clonmore bog to N. No visible surface remains. Shows up as a cropmark on the 1973 GSI aerial photograph. Land clearance has taken place here and the field boundaries have all been removed.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Laois' (Dublin Stationery Office, 1995) compiled by P. David Sweetman, Olive Alcock and Bernie Moran. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
