The National Monuments Service's description
Marked on the 1841 and 1909 editions of the OS 6-inch map; a roughly circular area (max. diam. c. 48m N-S) with building shown at NE. Although site was bulldozed in recent times and a modern bungalow now ocupies the greater part of it, the outline of a bank and external fosse, defined by a strong growth of nettles, is discernible running from SW-N. Tradition of a church (LA023-007002-) formerly located within interior of ringfort. Nearby graveyard (LA023-007004-) located 170m to the W of the ringfort.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Laois' (Dublin Stationery Office, 1995) compiled by P. David Sweetman, Olive Alcock and Bernie Moran. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
