The National Monuments Service's description
Unlocated cairn within townland that is described by H. Roe in her unpublished article entitled 'A record of archaeological discovery', p. 7 and described as 'Three or four fields to the NE of Garron Castle there is a scattered pile of stones with old thorn trees growing out and amongst them, while the remains of a shallow trench enclosing the whole. This heap resembles a badly disturbed carn and has probably been extensively quarried. In the adjoining field to the north there are many boulders and slabs of rock which may be outcrop and two small standing stones. Two fields due east of these stones is the Moat of Skirke' (p. 7).
