The National Monuments Service's description
Situated in gently undulating countryside with excellents views to SE. The two side walls of the old parochial church were standing in 1838 (O'Flanagan 1933, 249). There are no surface remains visiblem today, other than a small slightly raised area consisting of earth and stone. In the reign of James I, the rectory of Tymoge and Tullomoy had for its rector Walter Fulham. The value of Tullomoy was £6. The church and chancel of this union were in good repair and furnished with communion books in English and Irish. In 1640, Tully or Tullowmoy, in Ballyadams was worth £15 per annum, by 1657 this value had fallen to £4. The church was the reported to be in bad repair, and having no minister (O'Hanlon and O'Leary 1907, vol. 1, 341).
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Laois' (Dublin Stationery Office, 1995) compiled by P. David Sweetman, Olive Alcock and Bernie Moran. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
