The National Monuments Service's description

On N-facing slope in pastureland. A circular earthen ringfort (diam. c. 38m) defined by a well preservd tree-planted bank (max. Wth 6m, int. H 0.6m, ext. H 1.8m) except from NNW-N where it is flattened, and a fosse (Wth 2.5m), most pronounced from NNW-SE; from SSW-NW it is infilled. The interior is rough and uneven, and the S half is obscured by bushes and briars (pers. comm. Elizabeth FitzPatrick).

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Laois' (Dublin Stationery Office, 1995) compiled by P. David Sweetman, Olive Alcock and Bernie Moran. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
