The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on a slight slope with Killane Hill visible to the NW. Poorly preserved site which has been almost totally levelled and covered in overgrowth. A circular area (C c. 17m NW-NE) defined by a bank (Wth c. 1m, ext. H c. 1.5m) from NW-E. No other visible surface remains. Original entrance not identifiable. A small road has cut through the site with one half of the monument totally levelled.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Laois' (Dublin Stationery Office, 1995) compiled by P. David Sweetman, Olive Alcock and Bernie Moran. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
