The National Monuments Service's description
A low single storey cottage with two storey extension at N end is locally believed to have been built on the site of a castle (SMR File 2003-). According to local tradition this house was built 'inside its [bawn?] walls' (SMR File 2003). There are no surface remains of any bawn wall or any traces of an upstanding castle in the area marked on the OS six-inch map.
