The National Monuments Service's description
Only part of W wall of the church (max. l 8m, wall T 0.8m), built of rubble limestone, and a fragment of S wall (L 1.18m) with remains of a segmental arch, indicating a S aisle, survive. The N jambstone of a possible doorway is visible in W wall. An eighteenth/nineteenth century headstone from the graveyard (LA009-021008-) decorated with simple a incised cross and the initials WD has been built into stile in stone wall of farmhouse lane to the W of the church (JKAS 1904, Vol. IV, 194).
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Laois' (Dublin Stationery Office, 1995) compiled by P. David Sweetman, Olive Alcock and Bernie Moran. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
