The National Monuments Service's description
Unclassified monastic establishment (Gwynn & Hadcock 1988, 369) also called Triogue, probably an Abbey. Built with poorly coursed limestone rubble, remains consist of E gable of church (LA008-003-) with foundation level of its other walls and barrel-vaulted building attached to S wall of nave. Simple slit ope with glazing holes in E gable which apparently was 'trefoil headed' ogee headed (?) (JKAS 1904, Vol. IV, 194). Present remains are probably of a late-medieval parish church. (O'Hanlon and O'Leary 1981 Vol 1, 180; Vol II, 587; JKAS 1904, Vol IV, 194). Church located in N quadrant of rectangular shaped graveyard (int. dims. 81m N-S; 68m E-W).
