The National Monuments Service's description
This record is for a number of features of varying dates excavated in advance of the N9/N10 Waterford to Knocktopher road improvement scheme (Excavation licence number: E2501, Area 11). The remains at this location comprised a subrectangular pit (C115) (1.1m x 1m; D 0.4m) with a rounded base filled with black sandy silt which yielded some sherds from an Early Neolithic bowl. Another pit (C88) (was dated to the Early Iron Age. Structural remains were indicated by two identical right-angled slot trenches and some post-holes. A loose scatter of small pits and hollows were also uncovered. (Wren 2009, 252-3, no. 993; Wren 2010)
