The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on an elevated and exposed position in pasture. A ringfort (KK040-052001-) and souterrain (KK040-052002-) lay c. 80m to the S. Excavated in 2006 in advance of the N9/N10 Kilcullen to Waterford Road Scheme (Licence no. E2505). Three dumb-bell shaped cereal-drying kilns, two of which were radiocarbon dated to between the 9th and 11th centuries (cal AD 810-1000 (Poz-25473)). A fourth kiln showed subsequent reuse dating to the late 12th to mid 13th centuries (cal AD 1173-1260 (UBA-13986)). Two linear slot-trenches may represent the foundation of an associated structure. (Monteith 2009, 284, no. 1090; Monteith 2010)
