The National Monuments Service's description

Moore (1849-51, vol. 1, 12), writing about a megalithic tomb which has been identified as KK040-037---- in Ballymartin townland, also notes, 'one little sepulchral mound or barrow about a quarter of a mile distant [c. 500m]'. Unfortunately the direction of the barrow from the megalithic tomb is not specified and as the megalithic tomb is in the very NW portion of the townland, the barrow could be in Ballymartin townland, or the neighbouring townlands of Smithstown to the N; Darbystown to the NE and Ballywairy to the SE. The precise location of this monument is unknown.
