The National Monuments Service's description
On the W-facing slope of Cullentragh Hill, S of Mount Brandon, in an area of dense bracken, bramble and gorse vegetation. A small structure (dims. c. 2m; H 1m) identified by Séamus Ó Murchú (Ó Murchú 2016). Constructed of drystone-walling with a SW-facing entrance, defined by two large stones set on edge on either side (ibid.). Ó Murchú suggests, ‘it may have been a temporary weather shelter or a store hut perhaps for turf cutters. The nature of the vegetation makes it impossible to see if there are any further features in the surrounding area or if it is an isolated example’ (ibid.). This is not depicted on the 1st ed. OS 6-inch map or on the subsequent 6-inch ed. revision and 25-inch OS map, however, the construction of the structure and the fact that it is relatively well preserved suggests a 18th or 19th date.
