The National Monuments Service's description

In tillage. It is located immediately NE of a 243ft [74m] trigonometrical station indicated on the 1st ed. OS 6-inch map. A subtriangular or 'plectrum-shaped' enclosure (dims. c. 43m N-S; c. 40m E-W narrowing to the N), defined by a fosse which is visible as a cropmark on satellite imagery (Apple Maps satellite imagery), identified and reported by Jean-Charles Caillère.
It is similar in shape to a subtriangular enclosure (LI006-092006-) from Newtown, Co. Limerick which was excavated and found to date from the early medieval period, from the 7th-10th century A.D. Based on the dating evidence it was classified as a ringfort, as is another similarly shaped enclosure (LI012-056----) in Islandduane, Co. Limerick.
