The National Monuments Service's description
In Graiguenamanagh, in the graveyard adjoining the restored Cistercian abbey church (KK029-018001-), outside the side chapel of the S transept of the church.
Only the rectangular base of the cross survives. It is limestone and the upper portion, which tapers inwards toward the cross-shaft, bears an inscription. There is an armorial plaque, in relief, on one side of the base. Described by O'Leary (1892, 241) as, 'the base and portion of the head of a stone cross raised by Lady Anna to the memory of her father, Edmund, the 2nd Viscount Mountgarrett. A mutilated inscription in raised Roman capitals runs on three sides of a bevel on the base, which may be read thus:- "Domina Anna Butlera Filia Edmundi Butleri Viscomitis Mount-Garret in A.D. 16..".
