The National Monuments Service's description
Carrigan (1905, vol. 3, 330) refers to, 'High Rath, a sub-division of Castle Eve, is so called from an ancient fort long since levelled'. 'Highrath' is the name given to a settlement cluster on the 1st ed. OS 6-inch map and is also on the 1948 revision and the 25-inch OS map. The 'fort' is unlocated within the townland, however, an enclosure (KK027-086----), which was been identified as a cropmark within the townland c. 590m SW of Highrath, may be the levelled 'fort'.
