The National Monuments Service's description
Associated with the medieval church of Newtown Earley (KK027-012001-). A large number of graveslabs were uncovered during a clean-up of graveyard (KK027-012009-) in 1985-7 (Harte 1987, 408-17). These are currently lying within the interior of the church.
A tapering slab (surviving L 0.8m; Wth at top 0.35m; Wth towards base of shaft 0.25m). The lower portion of the slab is missing. It is decorated with an incised four-armed floriated cross with central lozenge, the whole being within a double-lined circle. Much of the shaft survives, but the lower portion and terminal are missing. Stylistically this graveslab dates to the 13th/14th century. (Harte 1987, 410-11, no. 13).
