The National Monuments Service's description
Lying prostrate in the centre aisle of the nave of St Mary’s church (KK026-010012-), Callan. An upper corner fragment of a straight-sided limestone slab (dims. 0.56m x 0.33m; T 0.13m), portion of the upper surface has broken off. There is a border along both edges and part of a Latin inscription, in Black Letter script, is legible as ’[Hi]c jacet’. Portion of a fleur-de-lys occupies the upper corner of the slab, within the borders. It is possible that this fragment is from the graveslab (KK026-010055-) of Philip Troddy, dated 1563, which lies a few metres to the E.
