The National Monuments Service's description

According to Carrigan (1905, vol. 3, 421), the townland of Bramblestown was subdivided into Bramblestown (proper), Powersbog and Kilcroney. He states that in Bramblestown (proper', 'there is a "Rillig," or ancient churchyard, on the farm of Peter Purcell or Richard hennessy. There was an interment, accompanied by a funeral, here, early in the 19th century' (ibid.). The precise location of this burial ground within Bramblestown townland is unknown.
