The National Monuments Service's description
Indicated as an oval enclosure (dims. c. 40m NE-SW; c. 26m NW-SE) on the 1st ed. OS 6-inch map on the S edge of a band (Wth c. 40m) of rough, scrubby terrain. A quarry (dims. c. 44m NW-SE x c. 20m NNE-SSW) is depicted c. 10m to the SW and another quarry (dims. c. 25m N-S x c. 30m E-W) c. 20m to the SE, immediately E of a field boundary running N-S. By the 1899-1902 revision of the OS 6-inch map the layout of the fields had changed, with the old field boundaries and the enclosure levelled. A field boundary now runs NE-SW through the enclosure, with another field boundary running NW-SE along the NE edge of the enclosure. The NW quadrant of the enclosure is visible as a cropmark of a deep well-defined fosse on Google Earth (imagery date 14 July 2018), identified by Simon Dowling.
