The National Monuments Service's description
Indicated on the 1st (1839) ed. OS 6-inch map as a roughly triangular area (dims. c. 75m E-W; c. 30m N-S at the W end, narrowing to a point towards the E) with the public road running along the S side and a R.C. chapel immediately to the N. In the 1947 revision of the OS 6-inch map the graveyard has been extended to incorporate the R.C. chapel and subsequent mapping (OS online, viewed 9 August 2021) shows that the current graveyard has been extended again to the N. On the 1st ed. OS 6-inch map the medieval church (KK023-036001-) is indicated as ‘Site of Church’ towards the W end of the graveyard.
The graveyard is described as, ‘a large burying ground’ in the OS Letters (1839) and there were, ‘Patrons held here till within the last twelve years on the first Sunday in May and the Sunday before Michaelmas Day’ (O’Flanagan 1930, vol. 1, 269 (91)).
