The National Monuments Service's description
Indicated on the 1st (1839) ed. OS 6-inch map as an oval enclosure (diam. c. 50m NW-SE; c. 36m NE-SW) in an area of woodland. On the 1899-1900 revision of this map the woodland has been cleared and the enclosure is depicted as a stand of trees. Some quarrying has taken place in the SE portion of the monument.
