The National Monuments Service's description

According to O'Kelly (1969, 86), the townland of Garryduff may, 'be an instance where in the opinion of some archaeological authorities the term "dubh" may refer to Fulachta Fiadh, the relics of which are blackened and burnt stones used in cooking pits as several of these sites have been uncovered here during Land Project Drainage operations'. The location of these fulachta fia is unknown within the townland.
