The National Monuments Service's description

From Jerpoint Abbey (KK028-062005-) Cistercian monastery, Co. Kilkenny. Currently in the OPW store, Kilkenny (Kilkenny depot stone carving number: KD049). A tapering rectangular limestone slab (L 1.14m; max. Wth 0.63m; min. Wth 0.58m; T 0.18m). Normally the wider portion of a graveslab is decorated with a cross-head with the cross-base at the narrower portion. This graveslab is incomplete, the narrower end is missing and it is not decorated with a conventional cross, however, for this description the wider end is assumed to be the top.
The slab is decorated with a raised central shaft which terminates with a narrow pointed triangle at the wider end of the slab. Before the break in the slab there is a knop on the shaft, with a raised band projecting from it at a 50° angle, continuing to the dexter edge of the slab and extending along the edge, but terminating some distance from the top. There is a very shallow chamfer (Wth 0.075m) along both edges and along the top. The decoration may represent an object associated with a particular craft or profession. There is no indication of an inscription.
