The National Monuments Service's description

In the OPW store, Kilkenny (Kilkenny depot stone carving number: KD039). A fossiliferous limestone jamb (L 0.63m; Wth 0.28m; T 0.283m) of an arch, chamfered (Wth 0.11-0.115m) on either side of the soffit (Wth 0.125m). The soffit, chamfers and sides of the jamb stone are covered in a fine plaster render, with three thin decorative bands (Wth 0.015m) running horizontally across the soffit and chamfers, 0.22-0.25m apart. There are also patches of a later rough render on top of the fine render.
