The National Monuments Service's description

The Down Survey (1655-6) barony map of ‘Cranagh’ depicts a substantial house on the S bank of Stony Stream, as does the parish map of 'Ballicallan' (Hibernia Regnum, courtesy of Trinity College Dublin). Though depicted in the 17th-century townland of 'Drilingstowne', this eastern portion appears to have become the townland of Ballydun. In the terrier accompanying the parish map, the proprietor in 1640 is listed as Richard Shee, Irish Papist (ibid.). The precise location of this house is unknown within Ballydun townland.
