The National Monuments Service's description
According to O'Kelly (1969, 6) in Ballydun townland, 'There is a rath and spring at 570' immediately north of the road from Kilkenny to Liss cross-roads'. A cropmark of the fosse of a circular enclosure (diam. c. 30m) is visible on satellite imagery (Digitalglobe, viewed 7 July 2020) c. 50m N of the road and there is a well immediately to the SE. This is possibly the 'rath' mentioned by O'Kelly.
