The National Monuments Service's description
Within a small wood on a very slight rise in the parkland surrounding Shankill Castle, on the gently rolling valley floor. There are good views in all directions. The medieval church (KK016-008001-) is centrally located within a sub-rectangular graveyard (dims. c. 32.5m NNE-SSW; c. 42m WNW-ESE). The graveyard is enclosed by a wrought-iron fence. The earliest noted memorial in the graveyard marks the entrance to a burial vault of the Alyward family which dates to the early 18th century.
