The National Monuments Service's description
At the NE edge of hills with valleys to N, E and W, in fairly wet rough pasture with a diverted stream. There are good views in all directions. A raised irregular polygonal area (diam. c. 57m; H 1-1.6m) defined by a fosse (Wth 2.5-3.5m; D0.3-0.8m), except along the NW and NE sides where it is defined by a stream. The stream runs downslope from the NE angle where there is a ramped, possibly modern, entrance. A roadway runs along the SW side. This may be the location of the unlocated castle (KK011-023001/KK015-033001*) depicted on the Down Survey map (1655-6) and mentioned by Carrigan (1905, vol. 3, 456), though no features were noted within the raised platform or in the surrounding field.
