The National Monuments Service's description

According to Doyle (1981) there was, ‘a second rath in the northern part of Loughmeran, near Dunmore [Holy Trinity, RC] Church. This rath was situated on a high sandy mound in an area of rough ground beside the railway line. The line is there no longer, and the entire area has been taken over by a concrete firm. The rath and its mound were taken away as gravel. I am told that up to the time of its removal it was in good condition’ (NMI topographical files).
