The National Monuments Service's description

According to O'Kelly (1985, 48), 'Jenkinstown House, partly removed within the last thirty years, was the home of the Bryan family since 1650'. According to Bence-Jones (1988, 160), the house dates to the early 19th century and was built by Major George Bryan to the design of William Robertson of Kilkenny. In the late 19th century the central block was demolished (ibid.). There is no evidence to suggest that the house incorporates a 17th-century house.
