The National Monuments Service's description
Indicated on the 1st (1839) ed. OS 6-inch map as a circular enclosure (diam. c. 35m). A field boundary runs NW-SE along the W side of the enclosure, kinking out slightly to incorporate it. On the 1900 revised ed. the enclosure is depicted as a quarry. If the 1st ed. map is correct then this would appear to be an enclosure, the footprint of which was subsequently quarried out. On inspection in 1987 the quarry was found to have been infilled, though it is still an area of trees and scrub within the field, which is under grass.
