The National Monuments Service's description

In a marshy field on the edge of wetlands and the river Goul to the E. Excavated in 2006 in advance of the M8/N8 Cullahill to Cashel Road Improvement Scheme (Excavation licence no. E2386). A mound (L 12.5m; Wth 10m; D 0.16m) of sandy silt with frequent charcoal and heat-shattered stone. A rectangular trough and two pits were recorded beneath the mound.
The trough returned a radiocarbon date of 1740-1520 cal BC (Poz-26534). A second fulacht fia (KK012-092----) was excavated c. 20m to the E. (Hardy 2009, 266, no. 1039; Hardy and Green 2009)
