The National Monuments Service's description

On a slight E-W hillock on the S side of a ridge, in grassland. There are good views in all directions. This is depicted on the 1st (1839) ed. OS 6-inch map as a hachured roughly square enclosure (dims. c. 48m N-S; c. 48m E-W at N, tapering to c. 32m at S), though much of the E side tapers towards the SW. Trees are depicted in the interior and a lime kiln is shown at the edge of the E side. On the 1900 revision OS 6-inch map it is depicted as an oval (dims. c. 54m N-S; c. 50m E-W) with trees in the interior. On both editions field boundaries are indicated running from the enclosure, one from the W side running NW, one from the E running SE and one from the SW running SW-W. At some stage a farm trackway was built, running NE-SW, it skirts around the NW-W-SW arc of the enclosure. The bank (Wth at top 1m; overall Wth 3m; int. H 0.8m; ext. H 1.5m) only survives in this portion of arc and its outer face has been truncated as a result of reclamation work. The enclosure E of this has been levelled, as has the field boundary running from the E side.
