The National Monuments Service's description
Below the crest of Clomantagh hill, on the S-facing slope, within a large natural hollow, providing shelter to the N, S and W and open to the S. There are very good views to the S and SW from within the hollow and in all directions from the top of the hollow, in forestry. Identified as a circular enclosure on an aerial photograph (GSI S420, 1973-77). It consists of a level circular area (max. diam. 30m) enclosed by earthen bank (Wth 2m; int. and ext. 0.3m). Possibly a ringfort, as despite the high altitude, there was good rough upland grazing on this hillslope before the forestry.
