The National Monuments Service's description
The Down Survey (1655-6) parish map of Urlingford depicts a house with central chimney, annotated ‘a Thatcht House’, on the S bank of River Goul, immediately E of a castle (KK012-001006-). The accompanying terrier records, 'a Thatcht Chimney House' in Urlingford, with 'Lord Mountgarrett Ir[ish] pa[pist]', as the proprietor of Urlingford in 1640. The precise location of this house is unknown.
