The National Monuments Service's description

According to Carrigan (1905, vol. 2, 361), the Irish for Urlingford is from Ath na Urlainn, 'the Ford of the Lawns or Greens'. He suggests that the present bridge crossing the River Goul N of the tower house (KK012-001006-) and bawn (KK012-001007-) and S of the medieval church (KK012-001002-) is the likely location of the original ford (ibid.). The bridge has a single span, segmental-headed arch of 18th-century date.
