The National Monuments Service's description
On the Down Survey (1655-6) Donoghmore parish map, there is a watermill depicted on the W bank of the River Nore, at the W end of Ballyragget Bridge (KK010-139002-) and appears to be on the S end of a mill race. A 'Flour Mills' is indicated on the 1st (1839) ed. OS 6-inch map at the W end of Ballyragget Bridge and at the S end of a long mill race (L c. 240m). No building is shown there on the 1947 revision, though a flour mill is indicated at this location on the 25-inch OS map. The building has since been removed. This flour mill may have dated from the 17th century or could have been an 18th/19th-century mill roughly at the same location as the mill depicted on the Down Survey map.
