The National Monuments Service's description
On the Down Survey (1655-6) Coolecashin parish map, a building with a crack and adjoining tower is depicted in the SE portion of ‘Fayle’ townland. Beside this depiction is written, 'a Decayd House'. The accompanying terrier describes, 'at ffayle a Decayed House and a fieue Cabbins'. The location of this house within the townland is unknown.
